Print Everything

Last chance to see a terrific show of drawings, assemblage and paintings by Robert Reed. The show entitled “Non-Stop Painting” lives up to it’s title. Bob was as tireless artist who will be sorely missed by those who were lucky enough to make his acquaintance. There is a rigorous, personal investigation in these pictures that is inspiring. The show, at Green Hall on Chapel Street in New Haven ends today. (at Yale School of Art)

The truth about light is that seeing is destroying. I found this grid of post-cards, in the studio of a painter, mostly faded to cyan and black. Sunlight, through the wall of windows, exsanguinated these prints. What remains is a cool sketch, devoid of warmth. Everyone has a blue period.
