Last chance to see a terrific show of drawings, assemblage and paintings by Robert Reed. The show entitled “Non-Stop Painting” lives up to it’s title. Bob was as tireless artist who will be sorely missed by those who were lucky enough to make his acquaintance. There is a rigorous, personal investigation in these pictures that is inspiring. The truth about light is that seeing is destroying. I found this grid of post-cards, in the studio of a painter, mostly faded to cyan and black. Sunlight, through the wall of windows, exsanguinated these prints. What remains is a cool sketch, devoid of warmth. Everyone has a blue period.
